Reflection: Family is forever
Today, I’m grateful for: My family’s unwavering strength in times of trial.
Challenge: Hug your family.
This afternoon, my great uncle passed away. His name was Terry Lynn, and he was my grandfather’s twin brother. As long as I can remember, he’s been a part of my life. I can still see him sitting next to my grandpa in my dad’s shop, or their happy place, as they might call it. Two little peas in a pod, sitting there, spending countless hours just sitting, observing and “causing a little trouble”.
It’s hard for me not to see he and my grandfather in Calvin. Maybe it’s the curiously not-so-blue but not-so-green eyes, or the mischievous personality, or maybe it’s just his shorty legs. Whatever the reason, I know they both would love to see him today. Calvin didn’t get to see much of Unc, and never had the chance to meet grandpa. But I know they loved him dearly, from afar and in spirit.
There’s nothing in the world that can replace family. No matter the squabbles or differences, your family is forever your family. And today, I’m grateful for them. For their support, love and unwavering strength as we grieve and remember sweet uncle Terry.
May he Rest In Peace.
