Today, I’m grateful for: outdoor family fun

The scope of activities one can reasonably do while on bedrest is rather limited. I afford myself the luxury of sitting outside every now and then, and it definitely helps keep my mind right. Tonight, I sat my little lawn chair on the front step as Calvin, Kona and Dan played in the front yard. They rode trikes, watered plants and chased around the tree. It was a sweet moment, and a peaceful distraction.

Even though I play a slightly different role in our family dynamic right now, it’s nice to still feel a part of it. I may only be able to sit and observe, but I am still there....Calvin knows I’m there. Dan knows I’m there. And that matters. I know that someday, I will have a newfound appreciation for the ability to get up, to push that trike, to water the plants, to run around in the yard...together.

Today, I’m grateful for some outdoor family fun time.
