Today, I’m grateful: A yummy new snack

Challenge: Track your protein intake for a day. What did you learn?

I’ve been on the hunt for some higher protein snacks and treats lately. As we approach the halfway point of our sweet baby girl’s pregnancy (seriously, how are we almost halfway?!!), I need to do a better job of getting consistent sources of protein in my diet. But busy mornings turn into long days and long days turn into nights that seem to fly by. Before I know it, the day is gone! Alongside the protein needed to promote babe’s growth, I also notice that without more frequent meals or snacks, I get sluggish and rundown sometimes making it difficult to focus. I’ve been looking for easy, grab-n-go snacks that are higher in protein, as well as special treats that make for a good afternoon pick-me-up or post-dinner me treat.


Tonight, I tried a new treat. I found this mint chocolate chip protein ice cream that has 20 grams of protein in it, and blended it with some milk and additional protein powder to make a yummy post-dinner, high-protein snack. Although I was wishing I had a few crushed Oreos to toss in, all-in-all, I was impressed!

I need more easy, go-to snacks that are halfway clean and full of protein. Today, I’m grateful for a yummy new treat that packs a protein punch! What are your favorite high-protein snacks? Now accepting suggestions!
