Live in the moment

March 18, 2021

Reflection: Do you remember the days when you worried about nothing more than what was right in front of you?

Today, I’m grateful for: A reminder to live in the NOW.

Challenge: Practice living in the present.

What is the record for the total number of consecutive items a toddler has “played with” in a row that aren’t a toy?...I don’t know the answer, but I’m pretty sure my son came close tonight. Here’s a small glimpse into a matter of maybe 30 minutes of our evening....and this is just what I managed to capture on film...

😅😅😅

If these photos make you tired, you’re not alone. This wild, wonderful boy keeps me going at all hours of the day. There is rarely a dull moment, and it seems his obsession with everything that is NOT a toy has been increasing exponentially lately. Our little man’s adventurous spirit and desire to explore EVERYTHING is enough to make your head spin, but golly, what a trip it would be to have his carefree wonder and innocent curiosity about the world?

Do you remember the days when you worried about nothing more than what was right in front of you? Of course this took shape in different ways throughout childhood, but all-in-all, that experience of living in the moment seems like it faded all too soon, only to return as a lesson in wisdom. I know I work consciously every single day to unlearn the patterns of my past, and reprogram my brain to live in this very moment.

Which is why I wish for nothing more right now than to encourage my son’s curious spirit. To help him experience the new parts of the world that he feels compelled to see. To explore new things. And if nothing else, to be F R E E.

Today, I’m grateful for lessons in conscious living, and a reminder to be in the moment. And I am grateful for my son, who teaches and reminds me of life’s greatest lessons every single day.
