Reflection: Our children observe how we treat ourselves.

Today, I’m grateful for: grace

Challenge: Be kind to yourself.

Today, I’m grateful for grace. After completely spacing a commitment earlier this week, I nearly lost it when I realized I had mistakenly showed up 30-minutes late to an appointment today. 🤦🏼‍♀️ If you know me, you know the amount of pain this caused my type-A personality. I said some not-so-nice things to myself, and questioned WTF is wrong with me, only to be received with grace from those whom I had failed with my absentmindedness. And it was a perfect reminder to give myself grace.

I’m not always going to get it “right”. I’m going to make mistakes. I’m going to trip and stumble and lose my way from time to time. And in those moments, I’m grateful for those around me who offer nothing but grace, love and support.

It’s also a reminder of the importance of extending this same grace to myself. If nothing else, for my children’s sake. They need to know that, even in the presence of mistakes, we are loved. And when others make mistakes, we will love them anyway for who and what they are in those moments.

Today, I’m grateful for grace.

In other news, Calvin learned a new word. Here is the evidence. 🤣🌮
