Reflection: Curiosity keeps our fire aflame.
Today, I’m grateful for: a day to explore!
Challenge: How can you be more curious in your day to day?
With warmer weather comes new activities. And with a young child, I’ve come to find that the first year or so of their life is filled with never ending newness. New milestones, new skills, new seasons, new things to worry about...😅
As we approach Spring, and the outdoor activities it enables, I’ve quickly realized that because Calvin is an entirely different person from who he was this time last year, it’s almost like he is experiencing this season for the first time. Watching him run and play in the yard is so fun. I can see the curiosity firing in his brain as he explores and giggles and searches for more newness to discover in his backyard of wonder.
I can only imagine what’s going through his mind as he explores the way the grass he picked up blows away with the wind, or the way the fence rattles when he shakes it, or the way the tree feels when he touches it...I’m so grateful to be able to offer him these simple but new experiences that can encourage his curiosity. I hope my sweet boy never loses his sense of curiosity and childlike wonder...
Curiosity, especially intellectual inquisitiveness, is what separates the truly alive from those who are merely going through the motions.
