Reflection: Milestones come and go, but our love is forever.
Today, I’m grateful: to be Calvin’s mama!
Challenge: Who do you love, and what is the role you play in their life? What does that mean to you? To them?
I took Calvin to get his first official haircut today. He was a little apprehensive at first, but he was so brave (even with a couple other not-so-happy kiddos screaming as they got their hairs cut 😅). I sent the other mamas a head nod of strength (and all the good vibes I could muster ✊🏽).
Milestones like a first haircut seem so arbitrary and yet so major all at the same time. It’s just a haircut, one of many he will have over the span of his lifetime. But it’s his first haircut, meaning he’s already lived and grown enough to need one in the first place (which for my sweet little bald one, says a lot! 🥲)
Today’s little haircut was just another reminder of the many experiences we will share over his lifetime where I will sit back and observe and watch him grow into, own and live out his own journey.....and I’m just grateful to be a part of it 🥰
Calvin represents a part of my heart that lives outside of my body. The intensity of the love and space I hold for him is something he may never understand, but again, I am just grateful to be a part of it! As he focuses on living, loving, learning, and growing, I’m just here to be his mama and love him along the way....and that is my favorite job in the whole wide world. 😊
