Reflection: I need alone time.

Today, I’m grateful for: a relaxing bath

Challenge: Give yourself an at-home “spa hour”.

Tonight, I got a chance to take a nice warm bath. As a mother of a toddler, I have found that it is not common to find “alone time”. Mornings are usually a just a process of getting out the door, days are spent working and evenings often feel like a nonstop sprint from pickup to dinner to cleanup to bath and bedtime routine. And by the time allllllll that is over, all I want to do is go to bed. 🥱

But tonight, my husband took our son to swim lessons and I stayed home to cook dinner. After getting the chicken in the oven, I decided I had enough time to draw myself a nice warm bath and relax for a bit....and it. was. GLORIOUS. How quickly I had forgotten about this peaceful comfort measure that I used to lean on so frequently. I’ve always loved baths, but somewhere between summer time and Calvin launching into full-on toddlerhood, I’d lost sight of this simple source of joy. The relaxation, the alone time, the peace and quiet 😅 It was a great reminder to take advantage of the small things, like taking a warm bath, and the impact it has on my mental health.

Today, I’m grateful for a warm bath.
