Reflection: I am exactly where I’m meant to be.
Today, I am grateful for: A small slice of normalcy
Challenge: Where can you find a peak of joy today?
Thanksgiving 2020 was.....everything I needed it to be. Normal?...no. Big?...no. But genuine, intentional time with those I love most?...YES. And it was one small slice of normalcy in this wild, weird world we’ve been living in this year.
Reflecting on the joy of the time spent with my loved ones was a perfect reminder that peace, joy, happiness (insert desired state of emotions here) is a direct result of our perception. Nothing about this year has been “normal” and, to be honest, there’s been a LOT (like a LOT) of sad shit that’s happened. But despite the lows of this year, I’ve found so many peaks of joy sprinkled throughout. New traditions (like making deep dish pizza on Easter), or finding a greater appreciation for “boring” time at home, or the blessing of having the opportunity to be home with my son as he learned to crawl, walk and so much more. So many moments, so many memories that I will cherish forever.
In any sense, I am constantly reminded that I am not in control, I am not bigger than the greater plan, and that I am EXACTLY where I’m meant to be.
This is a lesson I know I will continue to have to learn, over and over again. But for now, I will stop the overthinking. I will surrender. And I will let go and let God.
