A beautiful day

Reflection: The last year has taught me a newfound appreciation for gratitude and togetherness.

Today, I’m grateful for: a beautiful day with family

Challenge: Reflect on what the last year has taught you. What will you take with you? What will you let go?

Wow. Today was a beautiful day in so many ways. The weather set the stage for a glorious day complete with sunshine, good food, good company and relaxation. My mom’s birthday fell near Easter this year, so we decided on a birthday/Easter hybrid celebration. My mom made a fantastic meal and I brought dessert. We celebrated the day with presents, an egg hunt for Calvin, and some relaxing time outdoors enjoying the gorgeous weather. I even got sunburnt!

Days like these bring me hope and joy in so many ways. This was about the time a year ago when we were all locked up in our houses unsure of what the future would hold. A year later, I’m grateful to feel a sense of strength and a newfound appreciation for togetherness. Our time together as a family is so special, and I feel blessed to be surrounded by love.

The sunshine, good company and carefree timelessness was JUST what my soul needed. I’m looking so forward to more enjoyable weekends ahead filled with family, fun and time outside.
